Jamie McPhilimey
Hi! I’m Jamie McPhilimey and I’m a professional photographer in the buzzing market town of Wokingham, Berkshire. My photography work takes me all over the South-East of England particularly the counties of Berkshire, Surrey and Hampshire.
I live in a recently renovated Victorian house with my wife Anita and our crazy Cockapoo Lexi. She keeps us busy and we love nothing more than going out on lovely long dog walks and having a cheeky beer on the way!
My favourite things in the world are travelling and snow-boarding. When I’m not taking pictures you’ll find me planning future adventures. Nothing makes me happier than discovering new places and adding new stamps to my passport.
One of the proudest moments of my career happened in 2021. An image of mine from the Tokyo Paralympics closing ceremony was used by the HRH The Queen on her social media. That was a crazy day!
My love of people watching and sport is what made me want to become a photographer. I started out in the exciting arena of sports photography. I still continue to work with leading national newspapers and magazines.
My sports photography has enabled me to develop my own unique style of photography in other parts of my business such as weddings, portrait and corporate. My style as will see from all my different galleries is natural and relaxed with a contemporary flair, capturing the special moments as they happen.

My contemporary wedding photography reflects today’s lifestyle, I am known for my warm spirit and a keen eye for detail. My amazing couples always have so much fun making imaginative wedding images.
I try to capture the essence of the special day with a unique style that illuminates the spirit and emotions of the celebration. My approach is unobtrusive and relaxed and will put the bridal party totally at ease, ensuring beautiful photography from that special wedding day to treasure for the rest of your lives

I am able to beautiful, memorable photographic images of babies, children, families, and even pets. I believe that the outside world is the best studio nature can offer, photography sessions can be organised almost anywhere.
The aim always being, to capture natural images that reflect the true personality, rather than something that is staged, not natural and over posed.

I also have a number of Corporate Photography and PR clients that highly praise my innovative photo-journalistic style that is very contemporary, exciting and dynamic.
I have covered a wealth corporate and PR assignments including portraits for annual reports and press releases, product images, event photography, photography for websites and brochures, reportage work place shots and editorial articles.
Sports
Photographer
Sports photography is one of the few remaining pure forms of documentary photography. The moment happens and it is gone. You either capture it in an image or you don’t. Unlike sports writers and television, still photographers don’t have the luxury of instant replay.
I have worked in sports photography for the past 25 years and recently just returned from Tokyo and the 2020 Paralympic Games.
I started out over 25 years ago shooting with old school 35mm cameras, sports photographers were one of the first to move to digital photography. Shooting digital with the latest Canon cameras and lenses enables immediate, high resolution viewing of photographs and helps guarantee that the images I shoot are to the highest quality and what my clients require.
