Why I love family photography

I’ve been a portrait photographer for 25 years and I love it so much. I photograph many different types of portrait and lifestyle photography – from engagements, to maternity, to newborns, and to families.

My portrait photography style is relaxed and natural. I just love capturing all the joyful and silly moments for my awesome families. The best thing about being a portrait photographer is that I get to have great fun on the shoots and enjoy my clients’ reactions when they first see their finished photos.

Portrait and Lifestyle Photograhy Sessions

You’re looking for a portrait photographer who can capture your family’s awesomeness, can deal with teenagers who would rather be locked away in their bedroom on Snapchat and has the magic trick for getting a child’s finger out of their nose – and that’s what I do!

Your shoot is all about having a great time and creating memories. Whether it’s your first family photoshoot or a special occasion shoot, I promise you’ll enjoy yourselves and get gorgeous photos to put on the wall.

Before Your Photo Session

Before your session we will work together to pick a place that you are excited about and/or has special meaning to you. I prefer outdoor portrait sessions as you can get the best natural light, however I do love indoor at home sessions for a more relaxed and intimate feel. I will advise you on outfits, and listen to your questions, hopes, and concerns for the session.

During the session I may make silly jokes, probably do a silly dance, probably ask you to do something fun or silly, and help direct you to be comfortable and relaxed.

I understand that every family is unique with different comfort levels and I will work to create a situation that truly allows you to be yourself.

After the session, you can come over to my barn to view your gallery. It will be full of images that reflect who you are as a family.

Many of my families I call friends now, and continue to capture their amazing family as they grow from a baby, to toddler through to teenager.
